Good verses Evil

Examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good; abstain for every form of evil.

1 Thessalonians 5:21

My interpretation-
Gossip, slander, and intentional harm- all forms of evil can lead to a slippery slope in all forms of life. One negative comment can lead to a full on bash session. The bible tells us to examine everything, to pocket the great and trash the evil. Stand your ground against the enemy and those who enjoy the act of deceiving. Silence yourself when you are introduced to gossip and leave unkind conversations.

Those with good sense are slow to anger, and it is their glory to overlook an offense.

Proverbs 19:11

Rumors and gossip and unfortunate, but they happen. They lead to misunderstandings and disagreements and we all know that damaging words start spreading like wildfire. when it is aimed at you, yo have two choices. You can either let it burrow in your soul until you lose all your joy and peace, basically let it consume you, or you can just brush it off and forget it. It is easy to let things consume you, but when you have the ability to forgive and the grace to love others you will experience healing a lot faster.
