Interpretation

8  If we claim to be without sin,  we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.   9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins  and purify us from all unrighteousness.   10  If we claim we have not sinned,  we make him out to be a liar  and his word is not in us. 1 John 1: 8 - 10 Interpretation-  The first scripture is saying if you say that you are without sin that you are deceiving yourself and that is a sin within itself therefore you are a sinner. Or at least that is what I get out of it. In layman's terms- Don't fool yourself with words- everyone sins! The second- Be honest with the Lord and yourself. Be real. Confess your wrong doing and he will always forgive you or make it right.  The third- basically it is saying it is better to admit your sins. Be straight forward, don't candy coat anything.
